I'm Greg Watkins, running to represent you on the Council governing the City of Shasta Lake. As a longtime resident and Central Valley High School graduate, I bring deep roots and a strong commitment to our City’s future. During my council tenure, I've championed key initiatives:
• Our modern City Hall, Conference Center, and Council Chambers
• A new premier skate park, coming soon behind City Hall
• Ongoing construction of new retail space and 49 apartments on Shasta Dam Blvd. This project was forced & funded by Sacramento to increase our affordable housing units. We must ensure it is available first to the residents of the CSL.
I take pride in thoroughly researching each issue. For instance, I opposed the $7 million raw water tank proposal that would raise water bills by $5 monthly for 30 years. My opposition to this little needed tank forced the city to apply for and receive a $6.8M grant at no cost to our water customers.
My governance approach is grounded in common sense, fiscal responsibility, and values that reflect our community. My wife and I are active members of St. Michaels Catholic Church, and my Christian faith helps guide my decision-making.
Our city needs strong, principled leadership to tackle future challenges. With your vote, I'll continue advocating for responsible growth, fiscal prudence, and preserving our city's unique character.
